PITTSBURGH, PA, March 3, 2016: Philanthropic and community involvement are very important to Iron City Executives. I.C.E has made it their mission to give back as much as possible to the local community. In just a few short years, I.C.E. has donated nearly $20,000 to various charities as part of their community involvement mission. In the past Iron City Executives has supported the ALS Association, Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, and Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
This year, I.C.E. has taken on an even bigger task by making the decision to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! I.C.E has set a goal of $3,000 for St. Jude alone. The cost to keep the facility running is a high price of $1.8 million each day, but despite that fact, St. Jude’s prides itself on providing care to their patients without families ever having to pay a cent. Iron City Executives has taken the initiative to raise this money within their office by allowing their employees to have casual days in the office in exchange for a donation. Their human resources staff has also taken the initiative to bake cookies and other baked goods to sell within the office which also benefit St. Jude’s. The company has also created a GoFundMe page, in addition to the fundraising initiative in the office, so that the family and friends of Iron City Executives can also contribute to reach this goal!
St. Jude treats approximately 260 children each day and has increased the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80% since opening their doors in 1962. Iron City Executives is a proud supporter of St. Jude’s and will be making a monthly donation throughout 2016.
